Images from the book STARGAZER: Andy Warhol's World And His Films (Stephen Koch, 1973).
Two events inspired this particular post: A recent re-watching of the 1971 film Ciao, Manhattan! starring the magnetic-comic-tragic-mythic spectre that is Edie Sedgewick and a re-visiting of the book All Tomorrow's Parties with the photos of Billy Name.
That said, I decided to snag and post some black and white film stills and candids from the Stephen Koch book. I used iPhoto to give them an echo of the saturated, candy-coated feel of Billy Name's amazing 1960s photos of that much-documented, many-storied era.
