WTC: Of Tributes & Towers
Origami birds hanging at the interior exhibit of the 9-11 Memorial in Lower Manhattan.
These thousands of paper creations were given to the US by Japan as a token of peace and solidarity.
Images of One World Trade Center under construction and the 9-11 Memorial near the Ground Zero site of in Lower Manhattan. I was very impressed by the elegant power of the inverted fountain, as well as the emotional pull of its graceful drop. Steel beams from one of the original towers were displayed in the windows of the future site of the 9-11 Memorial Museum. The entire space was executed and manicured with thoughtful attention to visitors and those it honors... A lovely way to spend an unseasonably warm January night in New York City.

Patti Smith's FINAL Bowery Ballroom New Years Eve Show
Patti Smith is joined on stage by Michael Stipe for what she announced will be her final New Year's Eve show at Bowery Ballroom after 14 years there. I feel so blessed that my friends and I got to witness this spectacle 7 years in a row. Patti, her band and her special guests will be greatly missed.
